Evaluation: Riva's Eco store is a must visit place on 17th Ave. Owned and operated by Riva (a Natural Health and Alternative Living enthusiast) and her husband Andrew (who holds degrees in both Architecture and Fine Art and is currently practicing a combination of both), are educated and enthusiastic about health and environmental issues. Although the store started out with the goal to provide alternatives to clothing, baby and home products, they have a section on the upper floor dedicated to building materials carefully selected and researched, including flooring, wall coverings, solid surfaces and countertop material, insulation, adhesives and sealers. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful and educated on all their products and issues related to health, environmental impact, maintenance and installation. They have worked with professionals specifying materials for LEED credits before and are happy to assist with any questions relating to design and applications. |
